Rogério Gerbatin, PhD
Dr. Gerbatin received a master’s degree in Biochemistry from the Federal University of Santa Maria (Brazil) and a PhD in Neuroscience from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, where he conducted epilepsy research at the FutureNeuro Research Centre for Translational Brain Sciences. His expertise includes designing and conducting in vivo studies using experimental rodent models of traumatic brain injury, febrile seizures, status epilepticus, genetic epilepsy (Dravet Syndrome), and temporal lobe epilepsy. His research focuses on identifying effective therapeutic strategies, including pharmacological interventions, gene-based therapies, and innovative treatments for traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, and their associated comorbidities.
